In US government agencies, including those belonging to the intelligence community and the Department of Defense, the correct/official abbreviation "OBE" is "Events Overcome". At the beginning, the characters and scenes of the series are introduced, interspersed with mirrored glasses. Former CIA director of counterintelligence James Jesus Angleton, also known as "the spy poet," described the intelligence game as "The Desert of Mirrors." Eliot called Gerontion (The title is Greek for "little old man" and the poem is an internal monologue about the opinions and impressions of an elderly man, describing Europe after the First World War through the eyes of a man who lived most of his life in the 19th century). In the world of intelligence, in search of truth, it is difficult to distinguish between reality and its reflection, an illusion if you will, as if you were in a "hall of mirrors".
No one had even come close to this point
I have to say I was lucky enough to binge watch The Bureau a couple of years ago and honestly it's probably one of the best things I've ever watched. There is a correlation between the two series, obviously it was mentioned that it was an "influence" according to him, but I did not expect a similar story. Don't get me wrong, the series is amazing up to this point, great acting, good cinematography, but it wasn't something I haven't seen before in the French version. It's too early to tell how it will play out, but for anyone who hasn't seen The Office, I highly recommend watching it.
You won't regret it
After Fassbender played a professional hitman in David Fincher's The Killer and I saw that he was in the cast, I immediately knew he was the perfect choice for the role. Watching this type of series actually requires some concentration. It's not something you'd watch while cycling on an indoor exercise machine. Some might even consider them slow, maybe even boring, but it's those character traits and complex personal struggles, as well as the slow build-up of tension, that make them great in my opinion.
There's no middle ground for these types of series that you either love or hate
