When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel, and Bill Lawrence were asked how they convinced Harrison Ford to come on the show, Segel said that Goldstein initially wanted "a Harrison Ford type" and that he would listen to people who looked like Ford.

Segel told Goldstein that they should pitch him to Ford first, thinking he would immediately reject it, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford was involved in the project, sparking interest from other big-name actors. Eventually, Goldstein talked to Ford and sold him the role. Goldstein still doesn't know what he did to convince him, but he was elated nonetheless.

Harrison Ford is simply amazing in this show! His gruff attitude and sharp tongue are now my life goals for when I get old. It’s hysterical and I need more of that in my life!!!

This show is so beautifully written

Also, if you’re a Jason Segel fan, you won’t be disappointed. It has a variety of characters who are dealing with real issues. It conveys all the emotions and keeps you wanting more every week.
