A family raising cattle in Montana faces off against others who encroach on their land. Forrie J. Smith, who plays Lloyd, is an expert in the rodeo world. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) often “forgets” his Montana accent and reverts to his usual Southern California voice. Featured on WatchMojo: 10 Best Summer TV Shows You’re Not on Your Radar (2018). This is the kind of show where cowboy/western life meets big-city mob life. The cast is good, the first two episodes are well-written, and you’ll want more after each episode. Not to mention, the scenery in Montana and Utah is beautiful. The Duttons remind me of the Ewings from the 1970s drama Dallas. In short, Yellowstone is Dallas meets The Sopranos.
